ACTING CAMPS

SESSION 6: JULY 12-16

Alvin, the Chipmunks & Friends

Ages 5-7 (Entering 1st & 2nd Grades)

Join Alvin, Theodore, Simon and all their friends as we create scenes from this popular film series on stage. Get wild and crazy as we create are own OYT Rock Show and bring it to life on stage in a show on Friday.

 

SESSION 7: July 19-23

Junie B. Jones

Ages 5-7 (Entering 1st & 2nd Grades)

9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Full Day)

Who doesn’t love our favorite storybook heroine, Junie B. Jones?  This week we will use Junie B. Jones has a Peep in her Pocket and Junie B. Jones: First Ever Junie B-Shirt as our inspiration as we create our own on-stage farm AND design our own tee-shirt! Parents and friends join us on Friday for our Junie stage performance!

 

SESSION 9: AUGUST 2-AUGUST 6

Who Wants to be a Princess?

Ages 5-7 (Entering 1st & 2nd Grades)

9:00 am – 4:00 pm (Full Day)

A fairy tale set in Jazz Age-era New Orleans and centered on a young girl named Princess Tiana and her fateful kiss with a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again.

Bring the book/film to life on the stage of OYT. Friday we will present our enchanting performance!

SESSION 1: JUNE 7-11

Incredible Improv

Ages 8-13 (Entering 3rd-8th Grades)

Mastering the fine art of improvisation is one of the most important steps in becoming a trained actor.  This fun-filled week will be filled with various games, scene starters, techniques and exercises to help you become better at improvisation.  On Friday, we will present a mock show in the tradition of “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”

 

SESSION 2: JUNE 14-18

Animated Acting

Ages 8-13 (Entering 3rd – 8th Grades)

Being able to play comedy well is a challenge, and this week long program is a great way to practice. Comedic scenes and monologues, joke delivery and emotion control are all a part of what we will cover.

 

SESSION 3: JUNE 21-25

Drama Kings & Queens

Ages 8-13 (Entering 3rd – 8th Grades)

Are you really interested in acting, but may not be comfortable enough to tackle the “big” audition? Are you a drama queen or king that LOVES acting, has been in shows, but is ready to take it to the next level? This week is designed specifically for both types of performer. We will work on dramatic scenes, monologues and audition techniques that will give you all the tips, skills development and confidence you need to take your acting to the next step. At the end of the week we’ll produce a mock audition, for an audience, as our students get a chance to shine and show their stuff!

 

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMPS

 

SESSION 4: JUNE 28-JULY 2

Teen Queens

Ages 8-13 (Entering 3rd – 8th Grades)

If you love Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Orianthi then this camp is for you!  Spend the week living the life of a pop star as you learn lyrics, choreography and put together a great show.

 

SESSION 5: JULY 5-9

GLEE!

Ages 8-13 (Entering 3rd – 8th Grades)

Don’t Stop Believing, Rehab, Somebody To Love, Guy’s Sing-Off, Keep Holding On, Lean On Me,Jump, Smile, Imagine andPapa Don’t Preachand more belong together in this terrific songs from the show! Throughout this week you will have the opportunity to put together a musical revue at the end of the week. 

 

 

NYC BROADWAY MUSICAL SERIES

It may be 1000 miles from Broadway to Orlando, but for the summer of 2010, Orlando Youth Theatre brings Broadway to YOU!  Sign up for one or all of our NYC Broadway Musical Theatre camps and experience the magic of Broadway without leaving Florida!  We take the best of Broadway’s current and recent offerings and have developed 4, week-long programs featuring the music, choreography, characters and songs that you love to sing and dance along to, or want to LEARN how to sing and dance to.  Work with a professional music director and choreographer and put them on stage in a song and dance revue at the end of the week. Musicals we will feature are: The Lion King, Mary Poppins, The Little Mermaid, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Bye, Bye Birdie, Grease, Wicked, Chicago, Mamma Mia, Hair and Rock of Ages.

 

SESSION 6: JULY 12-16

HOW TO REGISTER

Visit Orlando Youth Theatre at www.orlandoyouththeatre.com to download our camp registration form and medical release form. Complete both forms and mail with payment (checks made out to ORLANDO YOUTH THEATRE) to Orlando Youth Theatre, 398 W. Amelia St., Orlando, FL 32801. If you would like a payment plan, a $25 deposit, per child, per camp must accompany the registration form. This deposit will hold your child’s spot and is non-refundable.  Camp tuition is due IN FULL one week prior to camp start date. Students will not be allowed to start camp until tuition is paid in full.  Registration for summer camps begins March 22, 2010.  All registration is done via mail.
